BREATHE

Remove The Layers

There comes a point where stretching, talking and even meditation are no longer enough.

Sometimes what we need most is permission to simply let go.

Imagine walking into a warm, welcoming studio where everything has already been prepared for you. Your therapeutic bedding is waiting. Specially positioned cushions gently support your body, while a specially made therapeutic blanket helps you feel warm, secure and completely comfortable.

There is nothing to organise.

Nowhere to be.

Nothing expected of you.

For the next hour, your only job is to rest.

As you are gently guided through Progressive Yoga Relaxation, your body begins to soften.

Muscle by muscle. Breath by breath. Layer by layer.

The tension you have carried for months—or perhaps years—gradually begins to melt away. As the body lets go, so too can the mind, creating space for deep rest, renewed clarity and a gentle reconnection with yourself.

Private one-to-one sessions are held in my Collingwood studio, just minutes from Melbourne's CBD.

Why Progressive Yoga Relaxation Is Different

Progressive Yoga Relaxation is a guided therapeutic practice that gently leads the body into profound relaxation while calming the nervous system and quietening the mind.

Although meditation and relaxation are often spoken about together, they are very different experiences. Meditation encourages awareness of the present moment, while Progressive Yoga Relaxation guides the body into such deep relaxation that the mind naturally follows.

As each muscle relaxes, breathing slows and the nervous system moves from the body's stress response into its natural rest and digest state. Rather than trying to stop your thoughts, they simply become quieter on their own.

This deeply restorative state creates an opportunity to become more aware of thoughts, emotions and patterns that often remain beneath everyday awareness. Many people leave feeling lighter, calmer, clearer and more connected with themselves.

Your Progressive Yoga Relaxation Experience

Every aspect of the session is designed to help your body feel completely supported, allowing the mind to gradually settle into deep relaxation.

When you arrive, you will be welcomed into the studio and invited to lie comfortably on specially prepared therapeutic bedding. Soft cushions are carefully positioned beneath different areas of your body, allowing you to be fully supported from head to toe. A specially made therapeutic blanket is then placed over you, helping you feel warm, secure and deeply comfortable.

From the moment you are settled, the relaxation begins.

  • There is nothing you need to do.

  • Nothing to achieve.

  • Nothing to fix.

  • Simply close your eyes.

  • Simply breathe.

  • Simply allow yourself to be guided.

As your body relaxes—muscle by muscle, breath by breath, layer by layer—physical tension gradually melts away, the mind becomes quieter, and a profound sense of stillness begins to emerge.

When the session comes to an end, there is no rush. You are given time to gently return before continuing with your day, often feeling deeply rested, refreshed and clear.

One of the Deepest Forms of Personal Work You Can Do for Yourself

Life asks a great deal of us.

We spend so much of our time doing, thinking, solving problems and taking care of everyone else that we rarely give ourselves permission to simply stop. This practice offers you that opportunity.

An opportunity to remove the layers.

To release the tension you have been carrying.

To quieten the noise of everyday life.

To reconnect with yourself.

Muscle by muscle. Breath by breath. Layer by layer.

Sometimes the greatest gift we can give ourselves is not to do more.

It is to stop.

To breathe.

To rest.

Because when the body is finally given permission to let go, the mind often follows.

Perhaps that is where healing begins.
